How does one of the oldest cities in the world, a city combining modern infrastructure with ancient history, look today? Yerevan, the 12th capital of Armenia, is 29 years older than Rome and is the peer of Phoenician Carthage. The city was founded in 782 BC and in 2018, Yerevan celebrated its 2 800th anniversary. As many buildings of the city are made of pink tufa, Yerevan is often called “The Pink City”. All over the city you can see unique small drinkable fountains, called “pulpulaks” which provide with cold and tasty water to the city residents and guests. From almost every corner of Yerevan you can see an amazing view of biblical Mount Ararat. The city has a lot of museums, modern galleries, restaurants, cafes, jazz clubs, pubs and winehouses: everyone can find a suitable venue to his/her taste for leisure and entertainment.
